Grades 4 - 8

Campers will build their portfolios as they snap, edit, and publish their digital art with MMS’ photographer, Roger Gonzalez! Any camera you already have will work for this camp, where campers will learn the fundamentals of photography and editing software to protect and polish their work. Campers will walk away with different types of medium, different angles, new perspectives, and fresh shots they can share.

Grades 4 - 8

Utilizing the latest 3D modeling software, campers will harness the power of AI to create face tracking Spachat filters. They’ll be able to make their siblings look like a robot, or make a robot look like an alien! This camp will show them how to model and animate angle features and then program them to track specific proportions of the human face. At the end of this week, they’ll have their own filters to share with friends and family!

Grades 9 - 12

This camp is ideal for aspiring game designers and artists who are experienced using Windows PC Computers. Campers should have some experience in programming, game development, animation, and 3D modeling. They’ll design an entirely original, functional, balanced, internally complete, and accessible game using the latest cutting edge tools like Unreal Engine 4, Autodesk 3DS MAX, and Oculus Rift S headset for an immersive experience. These are definitely skills you can’t learn during the academic year!

Grades 5 - 8

Jaime Wszelaki is extending the SeaPerch challenge to our summer campers! They’ll work in teams to build and operate underwater robots. They’ll learn how to problem-solve and complete underwater challenges while learning tool safety and technical procedures. Campers will work together to design, build, and program their robots to outwit the other teams and become Naval champions.

Lights, camera, action! Our producers-in-training will gain experience with professional equipment, video editing software, storyboard generations, and the mechanics of visual storytelling. To put these new skills into action, campers will work in teams to create shorts at the end of the week!

Grades 4 - 8

Aprons on, hair back, hands washed – let’s make some pasta! During this hands-on class, campers will be separating eggs, mixing and stretching dough, and cutting a variety of pasta noodles. They’ll master the from-scratch recipe, and let their creativity take over making all different shapes of pasta. Campers will come home with a knowledge of kitchen safety, how a recipe works, and a book of recipes.

Grades 5 - 8

This camp provides hands-on experience with the Robomoaster S1, the first robot from the world-renowned leader in drone technology, DJI! Equipped with laser tag, jell pellets, and an FPV camera, campers will have the opportunity to program their Robomaster S1 using Python. They’ll also follow an interactive curriculum and work in teams to build, program, and remotely drive the robots to complete challenges.

Grades 6 - 8

Campers will beef up their babysitting resume and show their potential clients their skills with this advanced camp. This interactive curriculum covers indoor, outdoor, and online safety as well as child development, behavior management, responding to emergencies, and First Aid/CPR. Campers will gain first-hand experience with toddlers right here on the MMS campus and receive a SafeSitter training completion certificate.

Need an early drop-off time for your child? Our early-bird staff members are available to care for your child as early as 6:45 AM! Campers have supervised playtime as they await their morning programs. At 7:45 AM, they are escorted to their classes.

Ages 6+

Upper Camp is designed to give children an engaging camp experience through a variety of stimulating activities and experiences. Each day campers participate in an array of activities that both motivate and excite the children. Campers will have a chance to play, meet new friends, and discover new talents. Qualified adults with a variety of skills and special interest teach daily activities centered around weekly themes including yoga and mindfulness, dance, creative arts, and team building.
